It is mid-July now but seems like summer is just about to start here in Helsinki, Finland. Although we’ve had some excellent and warm days since summer has begun, we still had few unfortunate cold days. Otherwise, hot or cold, these nice summer salad inspiration recipes would only make an excellent dinner party beautiful! I’ve asked several foodies to share their favorite recipe in this blog for me to share with you all a compilation of delicious and fresh summer salad inspiration you should try anytime you want to add a little healthy and a light side dish to go along your lovely dinner preparations.
Personally, I love having a salad with my meal. I often prepare easy salad mix with a nice flavorful salad dressing of my choice (or whatever is in available in my pantry!), toss it and serve. Typically, I go along with the season, and since it is summer I tend to put a lot of seasons fresh fruits and berries on a bed of greens, or just a simple tomato and mint salad with sesame oil dressing works fine with just about anything that I cook at home. During grill party’s, however, I love lightly grilled romaine lettuce or summer vegetables and serve it with a nice refreshing herby yogurt dressing! You see, anything is possible with summer salads and to be honest, you can almost never go wrong with them. Plus, they are so healthy and nutritious!
These recipes I’ve compiled are put together for their simplicity, flavor, and easiness. These summer salad recipes are all no-fuss, dump-it-in-there, easy-peasy sorts so it won’t is too much of a burden for you to prepare, or spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Serving a nice bowl of salad to share on a table will not only make your family or guest have a fresh side dish to go with your meal but also salads have a very neutral taste that cleanses your palate every time you take a bite of your main dish. Also, if you’re serving, for example, grilled food then chances are your meal have a bitter sort of taste from the charcoal and eating it along side some fresh greens makes the whole dish a lot more refreshing and more pleasant to eat. That’s why I compiled this salad inspiration to give you an idea that there are no limitations about what you can make and serve! Plus, salad doesn’t need to be just lettuce, tomato, and cucumbers – there’s a whole lot more other options to choose from! Seasonal fresh vegetables are, for me, the best ingredients to make a nice salad for instance. I love the crunch and as well the fresh summer feels they add to your dinner.
