The city of Iasi is where this beautiful Neo-Gothic building housing the nation’s Palace of Culture can be found. Spread over 390,000 square feet and featuring 298 rooms there are as many as four different museums in this building – Moldavia’s History Museum, the Art Museum, the Moldavia Ethnography Museum, and the Science and Technology Museum.

The construction of this Palace of Culture took places sometime between 1906 and 1925 as a replacement for the ruins of the old Moldavian Royal Court that stood sometime during 1434.

Before these museums were established the building used to serve as the Administrative and Justice Palace. It is also listed on the Romania National Register of Historical Monuments.

Also known as Rapa Rosie, the Red Ravine is a geological reserve near the city of Sebes to the southwest of the plateau of Secaselor.

Runoff from erosion has led to the mountainside having a distinct sharp appearance while the 800-meter-long wall stands almost completely vertical, soaring to heights anywhere in the range of 50 and 125 meters.

The red quality of the area is borne out of sandstone, quartz sand, and gravel formations. Deep ravines form and flow down to the nearby Rapa Rosie River at the time of the rainy season.
