Trælanípan
Also known as Slave Cliff, Trælanípan is located on the island of Vager in proximity to the only airport in the Faroe Islands, and it takes a 1-hour hike to get there. The lake above the ocean is one of the most beautiful attractions in the world.
Many tourists get here to capture really beautiful sights to soak in the great wonders of nature. It gives an excellent optical illusion by standing here. The lake seems to be placed much higher above the sea than it is. Exploring Trælanípan is one of the best things to do in the Faroe Islands that you shouldn’t miss out on.

Múlafossur Waterfall
Until 2004, Gásadalur The village was utterly disconnected from the world in terms of transport. There is a windy tunnel to make it easily accessible to Múlafossur Waterfall, which is regarded as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world.
The waterfall meets directly with the ocean, giving a great feeling of losing our breath with its views. The Múlafossur Waterfall is located on Vager Island.

Bøssdalafossur Waterfall
Located just a short hike from the beautiful region of Trælanípa, Bøsdalafossur Waterfall is perched over the cliff. You will spot the water falling from Lake Leitsvatn or Lake Sorvagsvatn, dropping exactly into the Atlantic Ocean. It is known as the ideal attraction for seaside lovers. It gives panoramic views of the sea.

Saksun
Located only an hour’s drive from the capital city of Torshavn, Saksun is tucked between soaring peaks and evergreen peaks. Saksun is blessed with a majestic landscape. This splendid place should be on your top list of things to do in the Faroe Islands.
You will come across the beautiful and iconic old church, sandy lagoon, and turf-roofed house. It is one of the Faroe Islands’ most unique and separate settlements. You will fall in love with the calmness and silence of this beautiful place.

Geituskorardrangur
If you plan to visit Bøsdalafossur, walk a few hundred meters north along the coast of the nearest rocky gorge. Geituskorardrangur is a towering sea stack, which will be seen here. It is a beautiful sea stack, which vertically rises 116m off the ocean.
You can sit down on the hilly ground and enjoy the sight. You might see a lot of birds flying above and underneath.

Hvíthamar
This beautiful spot is located just a 10 minutes walk from Gjáarskarð mountain pass and is in front of the Funningsfjørður fjord. It has an incredible aerial view from the fjord and the jagged peaks. You can easily get to Hvithamar and get an amazing experience.
During the winter, it gets a beautiful and unique view of snow-capped mountains to make a magical experience. However, the weather is unpredictable, and snow is never certain.
However, the nearby peaks are most probably capped by snow from November to March. By standing on Hvíthamar, you will be rewarded with a beautiful north view.

Hold up! Have you thought about the importance of travel insurance?
Remember this: anything can happen. Travel is fun, but your health is more important; thus, I always, always, always recommend getting insured during the duration of your trip. I have benefitted from having one multiple times, and it has been covered for thousands of euros!

Kallur Lighthouse
It is one of the true wonders of the Faroe Islands, located on the edge facing the cliff. It is a worthwhile experience for tourists. Kallur Lighthouse is standing on Kalsoy Island.
It provides a breathtaking view of both sheer cliff and lighthouse when walking on the ridge across the grass path. Walking from the lighthouse is a tough part. It has rocky cliffs of 200m in height along both sides.
Tjørnuvík
Tjørnuvík is an isolated village located in a steep valley. You must stroll on the nearby beach and fascinating view of the Giant and his Wife, Risin og Kellingin sea stacks. Tjornuvik is located on the island of Streymoy.
You will enjoy the beautiful view of the village by walking 15 minutes to the town’s hillside. It is the best place to soak in the beauty and quietness of the city.

Gjogv
Located just a quick drive above Funnigur from Hvithamar, Gjogv is a remote village. Gjogv is blessed with spectacular vistas of the north, a 200m gorge, and colorful houses. Hence, it has become one of the most popular destinations among travelers.
Be sure to hike towards Gjogv cleft, where you can get pristine pictures of the scenery. It takes a 5-minute walk to reach the end of the gorge. There is a fence for safety across the end so you can easily walk ahead of the edge.

What are my favorite travel must-haves?
As a frequent traveler, I’ve learned a lot throughout my years of travel, and there are five items that I always carry with me regardless of where I go and how long the trip is. Here are my five travel must-haves!
- Warm packable jacket – I always carry a light jacket, even when heading to warm countries. There hasn’t been a time I never used it, especially in airports and planes.
- Transparent toiletry bag – I often bring a carry-on if I’m only traveling within Europe for a few days. Life is so much easier to go through security checks with a transparent toiletry bag.
- Kindle Paperwhite – I love a good read and always take my Kindle everywhere. It keeps me entertained during long flights and waiting times.
- Powerbank – I don’t know how I could travel without one! Having a power bank saved me a ton since I carry a lot of electronic devices with me.
- Travel Adapter – I never leave my luggage without a travel adapter! I carry one with me all the time. It is just one of that travel-must haves that doesn’t hurt to have in your bag at all times.
Ásmundarstakkur
Experience the beautiful sea stack of Ásmundarstakkur by taking the Smyrill ferry towards Suðuroy, southernmost island from Tórshavn. It takes two hours to reach Suðuroy. Head west from Suðuroy, the northernmost village, to explore the fascinating coastline of Ásmundarstakkur.
Also, challenge your spirit by crossing the wooden bridge hanging a few hundred meters off the sea level to reach the Rituskor cleft and get rewarded with a picture-perfect view of Ásmundarstakkur. You will get the most appreciated scenery west of Suðuroy that you will always remember.
